Golf Improvement Tips For 2009 Happy New Year! How are you going to improve your golf in 2009? At this time of year resolutions are ten a penny so will you actually do something about your golf this year? The best way to make a start on improving your golf game is to make a list of the parts of yor game that you feel need improving. Here is a quick, off the top of my head list that may get you started. 1. Cut down on the driver, use a three wood and find the fairway more often. 2. Really learn how to get out of the greenside traps and land the ball near the pin. 3. Spend half an hour warming up before your round. A bit of time on the range and on the practice green will pay you huge dividends. 4. Practice those short chips. A chip should be considered a putt. Aim to chip into the hole. 5. Learn how to draw and fade the ball. it only takes practice! 6. Clean the grooves on your wedges. A wedge has them to give you backspin on the ball. Drop and stop it on the green. 7. Club up! You are not as long as you think, a club up allows you to swing easier, giving more control. 8. Stop hitting the ball. The ball is merely in the way of your swing, trying to hit the ball can lead to casting, over the top shots which slice to the right. 9. Check your grips. New, correctly sized grips can have a massive effect on your game. 10. Enjoy golf. It's a game! |
